I finally finished this Mayan-inspired piece I started while traveling through Quintana Roo last month (Jan. 2022). Often when traveling, I love to take photos of lots of little design elements that inspire me. A spiral on the edge of a ruin, the face in a painting on a temple wall, heck, even the design on a tacky touristy tee shirt! I love soaking up the local vibes of wherever I am and trying to put that feeling into a work of art. I'm hoping to release a whole series of these "Travel Dreams" prints. The ancient folk art, the local color palette, the animals, and the imagery have inspired generations of folks from that area, It’s all so cool! I became quite enamored with the jaguars, smokey totems, skeletons, ancient ruins, and mushroom people of the Mayan jungle and the Yucatán on this visit.
